The Mark Knowles Celebrity Tennis Invitational is a Charity Event hosted by Mark. It was first held in 2001. The event is held in December and is at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island at Nassau (New Providence), Bahamas. The purpose of the event is to raise money for various charities, such as The Sassoon Pediatric Heart Foundation, The Cancer Society, The Association of the Physically Disabled, The Childrens Emergency Hospital, The Boy Scouts of Bahamas, The Special Olympics and scholarships for promising junior tennis players.

LETTER FROM MARK AND VICKY KNOWLES (HIS MOTHER)

 Dear Tennis Supporter,

 

This is the 9th year that we are staging the Mark Knowles Celebrity Tennis Invitational. We have played host to some of the biggest names in the tennis world including Andre Agassi, James Blake, Bob & Mike Bryan, Jim Courier, Jennifer Capriati, Fred Stolle and up coming young stars Kei Nishikori, Sabine Lisicki and Nicole Vaidisova.

 

The proceeds of the Charity event have enabled us to donate $400,000 to local children’s charities, including The Sassoon Pediatric Heart Foundation, The Cancer Society, The Association of the Physically Disabled, The Boy Scouts of Bahamas, The Special Olympics and scholarships for promising junior tennis players.

 

The tremendous response from the sponsors has played the major role in this success and we would like to invite you to join us for the 2009 event on December 3 - 6.

 

The Pro exhibition presented by Atlantis, Paradise Island will be held at the National Tennis Centre, Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre in Nassau on Saturday, December 5th at 3 p.m. Tickets to the exhibition are $10 per adult, Children free.

You will offer you the opportunity to invite your colleagues and clients to sit back and watch the top pros in action. There will be a Welcome Cocktail Reception and Calcutta Auction where interested parties can bid on the amateur and professional players to “own” them.

 

The Pro/Am doubles event will afford the amateur players the opportunity of playing with the professional players. There will be a maximum of 14 playing places available for the Platinum Sponsors ($10,000).
